Jessica Pegula advances to U.S. Open quarter-finals

Jessica Pegula has advanced to the U.S. Open quarter-finals. The 28Ac-year-old tennis star is half Korean American and is the daughter of Buffalo Bills owners Kim and Terry Pegula.

Pegula, who is ranked no. 8 in the tournament, beat no. 21 Petra Kvitova in straight sets on Monday to advance to the quarter-finals. Her 6-3, 6-2 performance impressed fans.

Pegula is currently the highest ranked American woman at the tournament. She is also playing doubles with 18-year-old rising star Coco Gauff. Gauff will play her quarter-final match today against Caroline Garcia.

On Wednesday, Pegula will face the no. 1 seed Iga Świątek, a 21-year-old player from Poland.
