South Korean actor-singer Lee Jihan was killed during the Seoul crowd crush on Saturday nights.
On Saturday night, thousands of people gathered in Seoul’s Itaewon neighborhood to celebrate Halloween. The celebrations turned deadly when crowds began to surge into an alley.
Lee’s agency, 935 entertainment, confirmed on Sunday that he was one of the 154 people killed that night, CBS News reports. He was 24-years-old.
According to Billboard, Lee was born on Aug. 3, 1998. His career in the Korean entertainment industry took off after he competed in the second season of the Korean singing competition “Produce 101.” After the show, Lee transitioned into acting. He starred in the Korean drama “Today Was Another Namhyun Day.”
In a statement announcing Lee’s death, 935 entertainment offered condolences to his loved ones.
“We would like to express our deepest condolences to his family, who are saddened by the sudden tragic news, also to everyone who loved him,” the statement read, according to Entertainment Tonight.
