Blackpink set to be Coachella’s first K-pop headliner

Coachella recently announced girl group Blackpink as its first K-pop headlining act for its 2023 lineup.

Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival made the announcement on social media, naming Blackpink as one of the festival’s headliners along with Bad Bunny and Frank Ocean.

Previously, Blackpink made history as the first K-pop girl group to perform at the Indio-based festival back in 2019.

Notable Asian artists are included in the 2023 lineup, including Jackson Wang, DPR Ian, DPR Live, UMI and Yaeji. Last year, 88rising’s “Head in the Clouds Forever” set at Coachella also featured several Asian artists, including K-pop girl groups 2NE1 and Aespa.

Blackpink will be performing on April 15 and 22. The festival spans two weekends from April 14-16 and April 21-23.
