Emma Raducanu recently revealed that she is focused on winning another women’s tennis Grand Slam rather than reaching the world No 1 position.
According to Tennis World, Raducanu hinted that she wanted to win another Grand Slam title during a Q&A session on Instagram. A fan asked if she would rather be no. 1 in the world or win another Grand Slam. The British tennis player responded with a picture of her winning the U.S. Open in 2021.
Raducanu also told fans during the session that winning Wimbledon, the Grand Slam tournament hosted in her home country, is one of her biggest career goals, Daily Express reports.
The young tennis star has struggle to win tournaments since her underdog U.S. open win in 2021 but many people in the tennis community have faith that she will eventually find success.
“Yes, she is going to be in that circle of names that are going to be a force to be reckoned with. She just needs to settle, find her ground and take the pressure and expectation off because she already did something that not many people can do,” Olympic gold medalist Monica Puig told Sky Sports, according to Tennis World.
