Dogstar, an alt-rock band best known for the fact that Keanu Reeves is its bassist, played their first headlining concert in more than 20 years at The Roxy in Los Angeles, Calif. on Tuesday, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
During the show, the band premiered their new single “Everything Turns Around” and announced their new album Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees, set to be released on October 6, and a 25+-date headlining tour across North America and Japan running from August to December.
“We are so excited to re-introduce Dogstar with our new single ‘Everything Turns Around,’” Dogstar said, according to Pitchfork. “It feels like a fun summer song to us. It has an uplifting message and a positive vibe that hopefully makes your day a little bit lighter. It’s one of our favorite songs to play live and can’t wait to share it on our upcoming tour.”
The group, which consists of Robert Mailhouse on drums and Bret Domrose on vocals and guitar, was active from the mid 1990s to early 200s before taking a break in 2002. After reuniting and recording their new album during the COVID-19 lockdown, they played their first show since 2002 in May at BottleRock Napa Valley music festival.
The tour kicks off on August 10 at Hermosa Beach, Calif.
