Weeks after a 63-year-old Chinese American woman in San Francisco died from a fatal shoving, two more Asian women have been the victim of separate attacks.
According to the San Francisco Police Department, the first incident occurred on July 3. Yanfang Wu, a 63-year-old California resident, was shoved to the ground in the Bayview neighborhood, KTVU reports.
ABC 7 spoke to Braulio Reyes, a bystander who tried to help Wu and her husband. Reyes called 911 and Wu was rushed to the hospital after sustaining a head injury. She died two days later. The attack was ruled as an accident at the time, and no charges have been made yet.
On July 10, an 86-year-old woman was forcefully pushed to the ground, unprompted, by a white man in his 30s, SFist reports. The victim suffered a broken hip and was taken to the hospital while the man is yet to be arrested.
The most recent incident occurred on July 21 when an 88-year-old woman was kicked and “thrown to the ground” while shopping for avocados in the Union Square area, according to The San Francisco Standard.
