Uber has named Indian American Prashanth Mahendra-Rajah as its next Chief Financial Officer. He will join the company officially on November 13, 2023, Business Wire reports.
Mahendra-Rajah is currently the CFO at a semiconductor company called Analog Devices (ADI), CNN reports. He oversaw the company’s financial strategy and planning during a semiconductor industry boom.
The seasoned CFO will join Uber amid slow growth for the company. According to CNN, revenue increased by 14% last quarter, less growth than in previous quarters. It appears he is ready to take on the challenge.
“I’m delighted to join Uber, one of the world’s most iconic technology companies, at such a promising moment in its journey,” Mahendra-Rajah, said in a statement, according to Business Wire. “I couldn’t be more excited for the road ahead.”
Uber is happy to have him.
“Prashanth is an incredibly skilled and dynamic finance executive, with decades of experience across a variety of complex industries,” Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said in a statement, according to Business Wire. “I’m confident he’ll be able to help us deliver even more innovation and efficiency as we continue this next phase of profitable growth.”
