A former tennis instructor in Jersey Shore, NJ will serve nearly five decades in prison before being eligible for parole, reports the Shore News Network.
The Monmouth County Superior Court announced this weekend that 32-year-old Terry Kuo received a 56-year sentence after being convicted for sex crimes against a 12-year-old student.
He must serve at least 85% of that sentence before being eligible for parole. The 32 year old will be 72 by the time he could be released from prison for good behavior.
Prosecutors told the Daily Voice Ocean County that Kuo showered his victim with increasingly pricey gifts while forcing her to have sex with him.
Back in January, his mother Lynn Kuo told AsAmNews she does not understand why the girl and her family would make such accusations. She described her son as “strong.”
“He is good. I feel good. We are good. We need to fight. We are Chinese, but we need to fight,” she said at the start of the trial.
Evidence against her son included files of child sex abuse materials on his computer, reported NJ.com. He was found guilty of aggravated sexual assault, kidnapping, endangering the welfare of a child and three counts of sexual assault.
Credit card fraud charges against Kuo are still pending.
