Netflix has canceled its series “The Brothers Sun” after just one season, Deadline reports.
The series featured a predominantly Asian cast, featuring stars like Michelle Yeoh, Justin Chien and Sam Li. The storyline follows Charles Sun (Chien) who travels back to Los Angeles from Taiwan to protect his mother (Yeoh) and brother (Li) after his father, an influential gang leader, is shot.
Other cast members included Highdee Kuan, Alice Hewkin, Jon Xue Zhang, Jenny Yang and Madison Hu.
“The Brothers Sun” was created and produced by Brad Falchuk and Byron Wu.
Variety says that the show’s cancellation despite critical acclaim and commercial success is a sign of the times. Shows are under more scrutiny now from streaming studios and major networks that are looking to slash budgets.

Well that is very sad to hear. We just found it and binged on 4 episodes forcing ourselves to stop at 2am!
We love the storyline, the characters and despite the violence there is a sprinkling of humor.
This is indeed sad news.
