Sanket Bulsara becomes 35th AANHPI judge confirmed under current administration

Today, the U.S. Senate voted to confirm Sanket Bulsara as a judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

Bulsara, according to a White House Press release, has been serving as a U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of New York since 2017. He became the first Indian American judge on the second circuit.

The judge earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 2002. After graduation, he clerked for Judge John G. Koeltl on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. He also spent several years in private practice.

According to the Leadership Conference on Human Rights, Bulsara is the 35th AANHPI judge confirmed under the Biden Administration.

  1. Shameful. Bulsara is the most pro-corporate judge I have ever met. Please view 17-CV-05949 and Second Circuit 22-86.

Aware that the corporate defendant was guilty of fraud, this magistrate judge dragged the case for years to the extent that when days prior to trial Judge Matsumoto reverted the flawed view of the court under Bulsara’s supervision and ruled in favor of the Plaintiff. The powerful corporation appealed to the Second Circuit and I won again.

This is how a clearly corrupt judge acts to help the powerful corporations at the expense of the vulnerable in our community. As an elderly citizen, I was victimized once by Defendants and victimized again by Bulsara and his flawed orders.

Sadly, an addition has been made to the cesspool in the Eastern District. Hopefully, the pool of impartial judges is large enough to mitigate damages to our society and justice by judges such as Bulsara.

    Thank you.
