Vanessa Hudgens has won the eleventh season of “The Masked Singer.”
Throughout the season, Hudgens performed as “Goldfish,” dressing up in a bright orange fish costume. For her final performance on Wednesday, May 22, she did a rendition of Elton John’s “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me.”
Goldfish was announced as the winner that night, beating out fellow contestant Gumball. After the victor was decided, Hudgens revealed herself.
“I never knew that it would give me the freedom to purely just do something that I love, and it’s been so long since I’ve been able to do that. It makes me so emotional because I really do love it so much,” Hudgens said after being unmasked as the winner.
Hudgens told PEOPLE Magazine that she decided to go on the show after fans asked her to sing more.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight after her win, the singer and actress said she is looking forward to the future. She will be welcoming her first child this year.
“I’m just so stoked and feel so grateful,” Hudgens said. “I feel like the more you can acknowledge the magic that is around you, the more it continues to present itself, and that’s kind of been the train that I’ve been on for a good few years now and it never fails.”
