Gold medal Olympic gymnast Suni Lee will join the star-studded list of Sports Illustrated swimsuit models in 2025, the publication announced.
Photos from her shoot in Boca Raton, FL are already making their way onto social media.
The two-time gold medalist has been hinting at making a transition to the world of fashion and this shoot seems to fit right into that goal very nicely.
The announcement was met with excitement by some very well known celebrities.
Fellow gymnast Olivia Dunne who took part in the SI swimsuit photo shoot last year proclaimed “SO GOOD.”
Essentially Sports also reported that tennis great Coco Gauff chimed in with a simple “yesss😍.”
According to Bleacher Report, skier Eileen Gu, springer Gabby Thomas and golfer Nelly Korda have also been announced as upcoming swimsuit models by SI.
“We are thrilled to launch our shoot season for the 2025 issue with an extraordinary lineup of powerful female athletes,” SI Swimsuit editor-in-chief MJ Day said in a statement. “This remarkable group, featuring Olympic medalists, world champions, and record holders, embodies the next generation of all-stars poised to transform the world of sports. They defy stereotypes and champion equality, inspiring young girls to envision themselves as both athletes and leaders. At SI Swimsuit, we’ve always celebrated the future of women, and there’s no better way to honor these remarkable achievements than by featuring them on the pages of our issue.”
