The family of Hannah Kobayashi who has been missing for three weeks in Los Angeles says it’s been getting death threats.
The Daily Mail reports the family has reported the threats to the FBI and has decided to take down its Help Us Find Hannah Facebook page.
‘While Sydni and her mother believe the greater majority of the individuals on this page genuinely care and are interested in helping find Hannah, the negativity and attacks on their family have become more than they can bare,” the family is quoted as writing.
This is the latest in a series of bizarre twists in this case.
Late last week, Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell publicly expressed his belief that Hannah intentionally missed her connecting flight to New York in Los Angeles.
That prompted the family to fire back.
“These alleged findings have yet to be relayed to my mother and I directly from the Chief of the Los Angeles Police Department or any detective involved in Hannah’s case,” Sydni Kobayashi said to Fox11.
She says the family disagrees with the chief’s conclusions and said the statements by the chief caught the family by surprise.
“The lack of communication surrounding some important details has left us feeling excluded from potentially crucial developments. However, we do remain hopeful and optimistic that the Los Angeles Police Department is doing everything in their power to assist us in locating Hannah.”
Last week’s Hannah’s father was found dead. The coroner determined the cause of death to be suicide.
He had flown in from Maui to Los Angeles to help the family search for his missing daughter.
