Song Kang-ho has joined the Season 2 cast of the critically acclaimed Netflix series Beef as a guest star, Deadline reported this week.
Song, who vaulted to international fame playing the father of a basement-dwelling family in the Oscar-winning movie Parasite, joins Beef Season 2 alongside previously announced Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac, Charles Melton, Cailee Spaeny, and Youn Yuh-jung.
According to Deadline, Season 2 centers on a young couple who witness a fight between their boss and his wife which triggers “chess moves of favors and coercion in the elitist world of a country club and its Korean billionaire owner.”
Beef‘s second season will have eight 30-minute episodes, Deadline said, with Lee Sung Jin returning from the first season as the show’s creator, showrunner and executive producer. Ali Wong and Steven Yuen, who starred in the first season, are staying on as executive producers.
