Kaoru Mitoma, who plays for Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. in the English Premier League, is continuing to impress fans and pundits.
Mitoma has scored a goal in each of his last three matches for Brighton. One goal came in a must-win match against Chelsea in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
The Japanese soccer star has been inspiring fans across the world with his dazzling skills. According to the Premier League, he recently surprised a fan named Kazuo Sobajima, known to his friends as Charlie, who moved to Brighton from Japan in 1973.
“Thank you for bringing pride to Albion fans and for representing us with Japanese skill and dignity,” he wrote in a letter to Mitoma.
Mitoma met Charlie for his birthday.
“This is the best birthday present I have ever had,” he said. “It was worth coming all the way from Japan just to see him.”
