The Asian American Journalists Association and AsAmNews are teaming up to offer a paid video internship this summer to a deserving student.

To be eligible, the student must have attended a community, 4 year college or graduate school in the winter or spring quarter/semester in 2025. Those who will be graduating in May or June from a 2 or 4 year college or graduate program also qualify.

The ideal candidate should have a demonstrated interest in television news or digital video reporting, an interest in reporting on issues of importance to the AAPI community and a proven desire to enter journalism as a career.

The 15 week remote internship is a part time 10 hour per week position paid at a rate of 23.33/hour or $3500 over the entire internship. You must be based in the United States.

“AAJA is proud to continue supporting AsAmNews and the next generation of community journalists who want to focus reporting on the AAPI community, AsAmNews has led the way in ensuring that coverage of AAPIs are uplifted and amplified,” said Naomi Tacuyan Underwood, executive director of AAJA.

This internship is made possible through the generosity of the AAJA Broadcast Task Force and members of AAJA.

The Asian American Journalists Association is a 2,000 plus member organization of professional journalists, aspiring journalists and concerned community members dedicated to ensuring fair and accurate coverage of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community and  supporting and developing the advancement of journalists around the country and overseas.
