Aziz Ansari is set to make his directorial debut with two powerhouse co-stars- Seth Rogen and Keanu Reeves.
Lions Gate today released the promotional poster for the film scheduled to debut October 17.
Ansari also wrote the script and will co-star. His Master of None producer Alan Yang is joining him for this project.
Lionsgate describes the plot this way- a well-meaning but rather inept angel named Gabriel (Keanu Reeves) meddles in the lives of a struggling gig worker (Aziz Ansari) and a wealthy venture capitalist (Seth Rogen).

Also joining the cast will be Sandra Oh, along with Keke Palmer, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Carli Shayne, Eliza Shin, and Olivia Summers.
Ansari told Deadline he’s excited to do a comedy after focusing on drama recently.
“People do want to come to the theater and laugh together. I think we can do it, I don’t think we can say this genre doesn’t work,” Ansari said.
The actor also commented on the diversity of the cast which he says is unique.
“When they cast these shows, they’re like, ‘We already have our minority guy or our minority girl.’ There would never be two Indian people in one show. With Asian people, there can be one, but there can’t be two. Black people, there can be two, but there can’t be three because then it becomes a black show. Gay people, there can be two, women there can be two, but Asian people, Indian people, there can be one, but there can’t be two,” said Ansari to Fanbolt.
