Malaysian comedian and The Daily Show correspondent Ronny Chieng has signed with Netflix for the release of three of his upcoming projects, Variety reports. This deal follows the success of Chieng’s first stand-up special in 2019, “Asian Comedian Destroys America.”
These projects include two new stand-up specials as well as a docu-comedy series, the concept of which “is described as ‘a semi-scripted road trip comedy.’” Chieng and fellow comedian David Fung will go on a tour of Chinatowns throughout America, promoting local Asian businesses, exploring Asian American culture and pushing “each other to the limits of a brotherly love/hate relationship.” Chieng, besides starring in it, also serves as the writer and executive producer of the series.
Fans took to Twitter to celebrate the news, excited for new content from Chieng.
The release dates for Chieng’s new stand-up specials and docu-comedy series have not been announced yet.
