Ken Jeong is set to star in a new half hour comedy for Amazon produced by actor/producer Daniel Dae Kim, reports Deadline.
Shoot the Moon is described as loosely inspired by the podcast Life Failures by Paul Bae, a stand up comedian and former high school English teacher.
According to the TV Insider, Jeong will play a Korean immigrant whose marriage is falling apart and his career is going no where- forcing him to rebuild his life.
The single camera comedy is produced by 3AD, Kim’s production company.
“Paul’s irreverent and unapologetic writing, along with Ken’s impeccable comedic skills, makes this a project all of us at 3AD are very excited about,” Kim said. “We’re thrilled to be teaming up with them and Amazon to bring this unique, Model Minority Myth-busting world to life.”
Jeong is equally excited about the project, telling Deadline It’s truly a dream come true to be able to create an Asian American project told by Asian American storytellers, and hopefully this will inspire more people to share their experiences through the lens as well.”
