Former NBA player Jeremy Lin hinted at possible retirement while reminiscing on his career on social media, Yahoo! Sports reports.
Although Lin did not explicitly state whether or not he is retiring, outlets such as Yahoo! Sports, Bleacher Report and CBS Sports report the possibility.
Bleacher Report states that Lin gave up the opportunity to continue playing for the Chinese Basketball Association in an attempt to return to the NBA. However, because of a lack of contracts this season, Lin is unclear about other basketball possibilities.
“For months I saw others get contracts, chances, opportunities,” Lin wrote in his Instagram post. “I told myself I just need ONE ten-day contract, one chance to get back on the floor and I would blow it out of the water. After all that’s how my entire career started.”
If this is the end of Lin’s career, he averaged 14.6 points and 6.2 assists in 35 games after he was called up from G League, CBS Sports reports. Although these are his most recent statistics, he will always been known for his ‘Linsanity’ in the 2011-2012 season with the New York Knicks.
