Netflix has cast Simu Liu to voice one of the lead roles in its upcoming anime film Bright: Samurai Soul, Deadline reports.
The anime film is based on 2017 live-action film Bright, starring Will Smith and Joel Edgerton, Anime News Network reports. Liu will voice Izo. Alongside Liu, Fred Mancuso will voice Raiden, and Yuzu Harada will voice Sonya.
The film is set at the end of the Shogunate and the beginning of the Meiji period, Deadline reports. It follows one-eyed samurai Izo and an orc named Raiden. Izo and Raiden embark on a journey to return an elf girl and her wand to the land of the elves.
The film debuts on Netflix on October 12.
