Court documents reveal that socialite Maggie Kim has accused her estranged husband Doug Bunuel of rape and sexual assault.
The New York Post confirmed an arrest warrant has been issued for Bunuel in Massachusetts.
Bunuel, 48, is a former Netflix executive and now is head of programming at French state broadcaster France Télévisions.
Kim is a writer who lives in both Los Angeles and France. He filed for divorce, but it has not yet been finalized.
Court documents obtained by the Post indicate Kim alleges she in “in actual fear of her life” and that Bunuel has said he wants to hurt her.
Kim alleges that one of three rapes occurred in France shortly after the divorce filing. She says another occurred in Martha’s Vineyard. According to the Daily Mail, Bunuel has custody of their two children in France and she is trying to force their return to the U.S. He won custody of the children in French court and a judge in Massachusetts dismissed Kim’s civil suit in April, ruling it should be heard in France.
In a motion to dismiss the civil suit, Bunuel’s attorney wrote “Nothing contained in this motion constitutes … an admission of any liability or wrongdoing on the part of Mr. Bunuel.”
In the suit, Kim alleged she suffered “abrasions and contusions in her neck and body.”
“In addition, the plaintiff suffered mental and emotional anguish, nervousness, increased heart rhythm, shortness of breath and increased blood pressure, some or all of which are likely to be permanent in nature.”
The couple married in 2007 in Costa Rica.
