Police in Dallas are searching for a man who walked into a Korean hair salon in Dallas, injuring three women.
Authorities told NBC Dallas, that a man stopped his vehicle and walked across the parking lot and into the Royal Hair Salon. Sgt. Warren Mitchell says the man then screamed something unintelligible and opened fire.
WFAA reports the salon owner, an employee and a customer all have been rushed to the hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. All the victims are Korean.
The suspect escaped in a dark-colored minivan.
According to the Star-Telegram, police say they have no evidence this is a hate crime.
However, others aren’t so sure.
“You know, there are so many businesses around here, and he just specified a Korean-owned hair salon and came in and fired a gun,” he said. “So just worrying what was the reason,” said Jeremy Kim from a local Korean radio station.
Police are examining surveillance video to get a better description of the suspect,
“It just brings an added fear in this community, and we want to make sure we do what we can to ease their fear,” said Sgt. Mitchell.
