Three children feared dead in potential murder-suicide

Authorities are searching for a mother and two children after finding the body of the mother’s third child in a Minnesota lake. The children’s father was found dead in his home by first responders.

On Friday morning, around 10:30 a.m., first responders found the body of a dead man at a residence in Maplewood, Minnesota. According to CNN, they had been responding to reports of suicide. The actual cause of death has not been disclosed.

Authorities believed the man was a father of three children. According to CBS News, around 4 p.m. that same day, police responded to reports of a potential murder-suicide at Vadnais Lake. They began searching for the three children, who are all thought to be under the age of 5, and their mother.

Police found a vehicle and other items connected to the family near the lake, NBC News reports. They say they are treating the incident as a potential triple homicide.

“We do not know yet where their mother is, but we’re treating this as a potential triple homicide,” Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher said Friday during a news conference, according to CNN.

The body of one child was found at the lake on Friday. The other two children and their mother are still missing.

Authorities have not released information about the victims. However, the Daily Mail found social media posts from a woman named Pa Le who claims to be the sister of the man believed to be the father of the three children.

In a now-deleted post, Lee said goodbye to her brother. She asked for help finding his children.

She posted again asking people to stop spreading rumors and false information about her brother.

On Saturday morning, she also posted that “they got all four of them.” However, officials have not confirmed whether any of the other potential victims have been found.
