Jollibee in one week is scheduled to open its flagship restaurant on Time Square on August 18, reports Eater.
It’s just another sign of the growing interest in the fast food chain known for its spaghetti and fried chicken. This will be Jollibee’s second Times Square location, although the first is temporarily closed.
The 1700 square foot space will be located at 1500 Broadway, between West 43rd and 44th streets.
According to the industry magazine, QSR, Jollibee hopes to become a top five restaurant chain in the world. It is adding burgers and salads in North America to appeal to its growing base of customers in both Canada and the U.S.
The new menu additions will only be available at Time Square, but will roll out nationally later this year.
Those foods include double cheeseburger, biscuits, and baked mac and cheese.
“Opening our Times Square location, an undeniable global destination and retail hot spot, is truly a dream come true for our brand,” said Maribeth Dela Cruz, President, Jollibee Group North America, Philippine Brands. “It’s not only our newest location, but a powerful symbol of how far we’ve come and the unlimited potential we see for the future. We are committed to becoming one of the top global [quick-service] restaurants and this opening marks a key milestone in that plan. Our fans are the best in the world, and we invite those who haven’t tried Jollibee yet – from around the corner and around the world – to discover our joyful dining experience for themselves.”
Secret NYC reports fans of Jollibee are expected to line up before opening to be among the first served at the new location on August 18. A limited number of Jollibee totes and fun novelty items will be handed out to the first who arrive.
