Filipino-American actor Paolo Montalban and the singer and actress Brandy will reunite in the new Disney film “Descendants: The Rise of Red.” The reunion comes nearly 26 years after they worked together in the 1997 TV movie adaptation of “Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella.” Montalban played Prince Charming and Brandy played Cinderella.
The new Descendants film is a continuation of the Descendants series that depicts the lives of the children of Disney characters from the company’s classic animated films. In the new film, Montalban and Brandy will reprise their roles as the prince (now King Charming) and Cinderella, CBS News reports. Rita Ora will play the Queen of Hearts.
According to GMA News Online, Chloe (Malia Baker), the daughter of Cinderella and the King Charming will work with the daughter of Queen Hearts to save Queen Hearts from danger and evil.
CBS News reports that the characters in the movie also include the daughter of Maleficent, the villain in “Sleeping Beauty,” the son of Dopey, from “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” and Chad Charming, the son of Cinderella and Prince Charming.
