Blackpink made history on Saturday night with their headline performance at the 2023 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. They are the first K-Pop group to headline Coachella, USA Today reports.
According to The Guardian, the performance began with a drone light show. After several minutes, Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé and Lisa took the stage opening with “Pink Venom.” The group delivered a powerful performance without a guest artist or a major set change.
Their fans, who call themselves BLINKs, posted about their favorite moments on social media.

“BLINK, a condensed version of the band’s name, is what the group’s devoted fanbase call themselves, and I now count myself among their ranks,” Dan Gentile, the culture editor for SFGATE, wrote in his review.
“Generously, they welcomed me with open arms on social media, with over 200 comments to a tweet declaring my allegiance to Jennie, whose solo portion of the set was a transfixing mix of pop EDM bombast and early aughts hip-hop syncopation supplied by live drummer Bennie Rodgers II, who snuck octopus-armed fills into nearly every measure,” he added.
Actress Renee Rap, who stars in Mindy Kaling’s hit HBO show The Sex Lives of College Girls, also tweeted support for the group.
