‘Young Rock’ canceled after three seasons

NBC has canceled Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s show “Young Rock” after three seasons, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

The fictional show follows Johnson as he runs for president in 2032 and three different versions of his younger self. Adrian Groulx played 10- to 14-year-old Dwayne; Bradley Constant 15- to 17-year-old Dwayne and Uli Latukefu as 18- to 26-year-old Dwayne.

According to Deadline, ratings for the third season of the show dipped. The second season had an average of 2.23M viewers and a 0.39 rating in the 18-49 compared to 1.4M viewers and a 0.25 rating in the third season.

The show also featured guest performances from several AAPI actors like Ronny Chieng and Randall Park.

NBC announced it would be canceling the show on Friday. Johnson does not seem to have commented on the cancellation so far.
