The words “it’s about time” seem to go with Michelle Yeoh a lot lately.
The latest “it’s about time” comes after reports that the Academy Award-winning actress has married her fiance of 19 years, Jean Todt.
People reports the couple tied the knot in a ceremony in Geneva, Switzerland on Thursday.
The program shared on Instagram read “We met in Shanghai on 4th June 2004. On 26th July 2004 J.T. proposed to marry M.Y. and she said YES! Today after 6992 days on 27th July 2023 in Geneva, surrounded by loving family and friends, we are so happy to celebrate this special moment together.”
According to Yahoo Entertainment, Todt is a former Ferrari CEO and International Automobile Federation president.
Yeoh’s Oscar also made an appearance in the wedding. The couple displayed the statuette in numerous photos.
After a nearly four decade-career and exclamations of “it’s about time” when Hollywood recognized the iconic star, can you blame her?
Of course, the other “it’s about time” is the fact that she finally got her first starring role as the overbearing mother in Everything Everywhere All At Once for which the Academy recognized her with a Best Actress win.
It’s been quite a year for the actress.
As for why the couple waited so long to tie the knot, they both blame their busy careers and emphasized they both felt secure in their relationship and that their commitment to each other was enough.
