Las Vegas has long been considered a second home for folks in Hawaii.
Some even call Las Vegas the Ninth Island.
Now a long fixture in Hawaii has announced it will be opening its first outlet on the mainland.
Fastfood chain Zippy’s will open in Las Vegas on October 10, reports KHON.
“We know that many of our fans have been waiting patiently,” says CEO Jason Higa to Hawaii Magazine. “My father, Francis, and my uncle, Charlie, started Zippy’s nearly 57 years ago. As a long-time family business, generations of families in Hawaiʻi have dined and worked in our restaurants. Now, we are proud to bring that same sense of ‘ohana (family) to the people of Las Vegas.”
According to KNTV in Las Vegas, the company first announced plans to expand to Vegas in 2018, but the pandemic delayed the opening. The company is already considering opening a second location in Henderson, just outside of Las Vegas.
A hiring fair is planned for Tuesday, Aug. 15 from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Zippy’s Hiring Center, 4590 S. Hualapai Way. in Las Vegas.
