Filipino grocery chain Island Pacific Market is coming to San Francisco.
According to The San Francisco Business Times, the store signed a long-term lease at 2900 Alemany Boulevard in the Outer Mission, a neighborhood in San Francisco. The retail space used to belong to a Chinese grocery store called Pacific Market, which closed earlier this year.
Island Pacific Market sells Filipino food ingredients and its own brand of “Philhouse authentic home-cooked Filipino meals,” Eater reports. The store also plans to include onsite eateries and restaurants like a San Honore Bakery, Chirp Bakery, and Boba Opa Tea window.
The San Francisco Business Times says the proposed hours are 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week. It is unclear when the chain plans to begin construction and development.
Island Pacific Market has 19 locations in California and Nevada, Inquirer.net reports. Four of those locations are in Bay Area cities: Hayward, Pittsburg, Vallejo and Union City.
