There’s a good chance Filipino American guard Jordan Clarkson will step on the court again in the red, white and blue Gilas Pilipinas jersey.
The Utah Jazz star said he will make himself available to play if the team qualifies for the 2027 FIBA World Cup in Qater.
“I’m still out here competing. I don’t think that’s my last performance in this jersey,” Clarkson told Panay News. “Hopefully down the line, when that time comes around again, I’ll be able to put this jersey on and represent the country.”
Clarkson starred in this year’s tournament, averaging 26 points as the team’s most efficient scorer.
After the team dropped its first four games, the Philippines team salvaged a late victory against China, securing them a place in the Olympic Qualifying tournament, according to Sports Interactive Network.
Clarkson led all scorers with 34 points, 3 assists and 2 rebounds.
“It’s been a tough tournament, but we kept fighting, kept competing, kept playing. We really wanted to end this on the right note,” he said.
