Two-day event celebrated launch of ‘The Brothers Sun’

This past weekend, Netflix and 626 Night Market hosted a free, two-day event in Arcadia, California, to celebrate the premiere of Netflix’s new series The Brothers Sun. The series is now available for streaming on Netflix.

The Brothers Sun follows Charles Sun (Justin Chien), a trained killer who returns to Los Angeles, California, to protect his mother Eileen Sun (Yeoh, and his younger brother, Bruce (Sam Song Li) after his father Big Sun (Johnny Kou), a powerful Taiwanese crime boss, is shot by an assassin.

626 Night Market is inspired by the open-air night markets in many Asian countries. The event gets its name from the San Gabriel Valley area code, “626.”

According to a press release, the launch event featured over three dozen food, art and merchandise vendors. It was sold out on Sunday, with over 20,000 people signed up to attend.

Most of the show’s stars made appearances.

“Thank you San Gabriel Valley for all your love and cooperation that made it possible for us to film here and have such a great time,” Michelle Yeoh said to a crowd of fans, according to a press release. “We had too much good food and we were all worried we wouldn’t fit into our costumes, but somehow we figured it out.”
