Young Mazino joins ‘The Last of Us’ cast

Young Mazino has joined the cast of HBO Max’s series The Last of Us for its second season, Deadline reports. The show, based on a video game of the same name, follows a man named Joe and a girl named Ellie who are living in a post-apocalyptic world.

Mazino will play Jesse, a community leader who puts others’ needs before his own. The 32-year-old is known for his role on the Netflix original series Beef, playing Paul, the younger brother of Steven Yeun’s character.

“Young is one of those rare actors who is immediately undeniable the moment you see him,” said series co-creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, per Variety. “We’re so lucky to have him, and we can’t wait for the audience to see Young shine in our show.”

According to Deadline, Season 2 will be filmed in Vancouver, Canada. It is unclear when filming is set to start.
