Popstar Olivia Rodrigo bagged two of the biggest honors at the People’s Choice Awards Sunday night.
E! reports she took home the awards for Song of the Year for Vampire and Album of the Year for Guts.
Rodrigo is Filipino American on her father’s side. She also has Irish, German, Austrian and Hungarian roots.
The former Disney Channel actress has resonated with her fanbase with lyrics of heartbreak, resilience and self-discovery, Pinkvilla reports.
All awards shows are popularity contests to some extent. The People’s Choice Awards is 100% based on votes by fans.
This is the first time Rodrigo has won this award, yet another sign of her growing popularity.
She also has won three Grammys, seven Billboard Music Awards, four MTV Music Awards and four iHeart Radio Awards.
