Members of the Chinese community held a vigil for two Chinese students at the University of Miami who were killed after being struck by a car, reports CBS Miami.
27-year old Ying Chen and 26-year old Hao Liu had just arrived from China to the University two months ago to pursue their doctorate degrees.
They were struck by a Porsche while crossing the street.
One of the victim’s family’s performed a Chinese ritual to honor their loved one.
“We believe their soul will come back on the seventh day. And this is why her mother is praying on the sidewalk,” said U.M. student Ping Zou.
