The Greater Los Angeles Area office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations has released a statement condemning the doxxing of several students from the University of California, Irvine.
According to a press release from CAIR-LA, the students were doxxed for expressing their solidarity with Palestine and condemning the genocidal actions of Israel. Their names and photos were displayed on the side of a large truck that drove around campus. The truck labeled the students “UC Irvine’s Leading Antisemites.”
“It is extremely concerning that the UCI administration is allowing outside organizations on campus who use defamatory, inflammatory, and unsubstantiated claims to dox and harass students publicly calling for an end to Israel’s genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza. These efforts are clearly intended to chill student speech and to make them direct targets of harassment and threats. Over the past year, countless students nationwide have been the targets of doxing because of their pro-Palestine activism, leading to harassment, discrimination, and threats,” CAIR-LA Legal Director Amr Shabaik, Esq. said in a statement.
UC Irvine Chancellor Howard Gillman also released a statement condemning the doxxing and noting that it allegedly came from an organization not affiliated with the university.
“We are aware that non-affiliate individuals have been visiting our campus with the intent to target and intimidate members of our community,” Gilman said. “This doxxing behavior is loathsome and I condemn it in the strongest possible terms. Those behind these activities are debasing our political culture and attempting to undermine the values necessary to sustain a tolerant, diverse, democratic society.”

Historically and very frankly speaking, Israelites and Palestinians have been fighting and killing each other for thousands of years, and probably will keep fighting forever. East Asians like me have nothing to do with their conflict and should not take side or get involved whatsoever.
