Asked which is more important, ending the threat of deportation or paving a path to citizenship, 55 percent of Hispanics saying ending deportation threats is more important. 49 percent of Asian Americans feel the same way.
Together there are 18 million Latinos and Asian Americans living in the US legally with both groups voting overwhelmingly for Barack Obama in the last election.
The same poll confirmed that an incredible 89 percent of Hispanics and 72 percent of Asian Americans support the provision in the Senate immigration reform bill that would allow citizenship for undocumented immigrants.
