This is starting to play out like the whole Melissa McCarthy controversy just a few months ago.
Mindy Kaling has responded on Twitter to those who felt Elle did her a disservice by not showing a full body shot of the size 8 Kaling in her cover photo, reports Today.
I love my @ELLEmagazine cover. It made me feel glamorous & cool. And if anyone wants to see more of my body, go on thirteen dates with me.

Many said Elle dissed her by hiding her unsuper model-like body, something that Kaling has proudly never tried to hide. Kaling apparently disagrees.
It was just a few months ago when Elle splashed a photo of the plus size Melissa McCarthy covered by a large coat.
Again, critics accused Elle of trying to hide McCarthy’s body.
McCarthy defended the photo and embraced the term “jacketgate” to describe it. As for Kaling, she knows a promotional opportunity when she sees it. She urged viewers to watch last night’s episode of the Mindy Show to see her naked.
