Fans of Mirai Nagasu are going for the salchow quadruple jump to win the hearts and minds of the US Olympic committee.
According to an article in Asiance Magazine, a Twitter and letter writing campaign is being directed at the US Olympic Committee Board of Directors.
The Board is scheduled to approve the US Figure Skating Association’s nominations for the team which must be finalized by January 27.
They are asking the board to refuse to confirm the nominations until all questions are answered as to whether NBC which is carrying the Olympics, along with corporate sponsors, “influenced” the selection of the team.
It’ll be truly a miracle if the fans are able to pull this off, but stranger things have happened in sports.
