The Museum of Chinese in America opened its news exhibition this week featuring the artistry of Disney Legend Tyrus Wong, Water to Paper, Paint to Sky: The Art of Tyrus Wong.
The 104-year old pioneer is best known for his work on Bambi [1942], but also is the master behind the concept images for such films as Rebel Without a Cause [1955] and The Wild Bunch [1969].
In 2001, Wong was named a Disney Legend, an honor given to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Walt Disney Company. He has also been inducted into the World Kite Museum and Hall of Fame for his amazing kite designs.
Wong is still active with his art work today and attended the opening in New York City. The exhibition runs through September 13.
