Miss Piggy was very good to the Huangs.
The series premiere of The Muppets kicked off a strong Tuesday night for ABC, reports TV by the Numbers.
Fresh Off the Boat in its season premiere matched it highest viewership on Tuesday in the coveted 18 – 49 age group with a 1.9 rating and 7 share. It beat last year’s show in the Tuesday night 8:30 time slot, the now cancelled Manhattan Love Story by 47%. The bad news is it fell 0.9 rating points from its lead-in, The Muppets, which posted a 2.8 rating among 18-49 year olds.
It’s not uncommon for ratings to drop in the weeks following a debut. Fresh Off the Boat and The Muppets are both up against strong competition–the highly popular NCIS on CBS and The Voice on NBC. Knowing this, ABC is very likely pleased with the opening week results.
