For the first time, Top Chef star Padma Lakshmi is talking about how she conceived her miracle baby.
Lakshmi truly believed she would never have a child of her own. Why would she? Doctors diagnosed the model and television host with endometriosis six years ago. They told her she would likely never conceive, even if she underwent in vitro fertilization.
It was just a few years after that that she became pregnant with her now 3-year old daughter, Krishna.
“It ended up happening accidentally,” Lakshmi, now 42, told the Newser. “I’d spent most of my life trying not to get pregnant and it was only after stopping taking birth control—because I was told that I couldn’t conceive—that it happened at all.”
The father was Adam Dell who she said she only had a short relationship. Lakshmi started the Endometriosis Foundation in 2009.
