New Yorkers who look to take economical bus rides have one less option as another Chinatown bus operation is closed following the shutdown of Fung Wah last month.
The U.S. Department of Transportation revoked the license of Ming An last Friday due to “imminent hazard to public safety” and that the company “allowed unqualified drivers to operate its vehicles,” reported New York Magazine. The bus company is located at storefront office on Canal Street. It is known for selling cheap rides to cities in Virgina, Georgia and Florida.
“We will not let up and we will not slow down,” said Ray LaHood, secretary of Transportation, according to the Transportation’s statement about the closure.
Comment from @VMAUN via Twitter: I frequented this line in my day. Not surprised but ultimately sad that they got shut down. Had my only bus accident on one.
