Remembering the Contributions of Chinese American Veterans in WWII

Memorial Day Observance 2017

Memorial Day Observance in New York by American Legion Lt. B.R. Kim Lau Chinese Memorial Post 1291
My dad was a World War II veteran, but frankly you don’t hear a lot about the contributions of Chinese Americans who fought bravely for the United States and allied forces to defeat the Nazis.

That’s starting to change. Producer Samantha Cheng is working on a documentary on the heroism of Chinese American soldiers.

In New York, a group of Chinese veterans from the American Legion LT B.R. Kim Lau Chinese Memorial Post 1291, held a commemorative ceremony to honor some of their lost comrades in arms.

AsAmNews Correspondent Shirley Ng just released this wonderful video of that ceremony.
