Two post graduate Thai students who attended the University of Washington died in a murder-suicide, reports My Northwest.
The two were found in their apartment dead from stab wounds. The coroner has identified them as 25-year-old Kornkamol Leenavarat and her close friend, Thiti-orn Chotchuangsap,32. They had arrived just two weeks ago for school.
The Bangkok Post reports the 32 year old killed Kornkamol, and then killed herself.
Kornkamol’s oldest brother denied reports that his sister had expressed concerns about her safety. The family posted on Facebook that she had come to the U.S. last month to pursue a master’s degree in law.
“This is a heartbreaking loss for their families, friends and our entire community. I offer condolences on behalf of our university to everyone who is grieving as a result of this tragedy,’’ University of Washington president Ana Mari Cauce wrote in an online post.
