Two contestants from the reality show Big Brother are paying the price for racist comments made during a live feed of the program, reports the Chicago Tribune.
22-year old Aaryn Gries (pictured to the left) from Texas was heard making remarks about fellow contestant Helen Kim, who is Asian American.
She said Helen should “shut up and go make some rice.”
She also said “she is the first Asian I know who doesn’t do nails.”
According to the Chicago Tribune, Aaryn has been dropped by the modeling agency Zephyr Talent.

The agency said on its Facebook page that it did not condone Aaryn’s “prejudices and other beliefs,” and has “decided to release Aaryn from her contract with Zephyr Talent.”
In a second article in the Chicago Tribune, it was reported that another contestant, GinaMarie Zimmerman(seen below) was fired from her job with East Coast
USA Pageant, Inc. Gina was heard making some remarks about African American contestant Candice Stewart. Gina said Candice’s “blackness” is showing now that she’s not on the block.
The Pageant issued the following statement: “We have never known this side of GinaMarie or have ever witnessed such acts of racism in the past. We are actually thankful that this show let us see GinaMarie for who she truly is. We would never want her to be a role model to our future contestants.
A petition on change.org is calling for both contestants to be removed from the show. So far no comment from CBS, although the producers have warned all the contestants not to use slurs on the program.
