A statistical analysis by the Pew Research Center found for the first time the voter participation rate of African Americans may have outpaced whites. The final numbers won’t be in for a few months, but analysts say the scenario is highly probable, reports the National Journal.
Asians Americans made up 4 percent of the eligible electorate, but only represented 3 percent of the turnout.
Hispanics made up 11 percent of the eligible electorate, and 10 percent of the turnout.
Blacks 12 percent versus 13.
Whites 72 percent versus 71.
