Social media, Asian and Latino cultures merge tonight when the Smithsonian kicks off its Asian-Latino Festival.
Rafu Shimpo reports the event is a celebration of the cultural intersection of the nation’s two fastest growing ethnic groups.
It kicks off with “Gourmet Intersections: Asian-Latino Food Crossings,” a discussion of shared food traditions moderated by Anupy Singla(pictured right), cookbook author and founder of “Indian as Apple Pie.”
The event will be webcast live this evening beginning at 6:45 Washington time at http://bit.ly/apawebcast. For those in Washington, D.C., the event is sold out so the only way to see it if you don’t have a ticket is the webcast.
You can catch other events including an Asian-Latino Pop Up Gallery. More details can be found in Rafu Shimpo.
