With the election about a year away, poll shows Oakland Mayor Jean Quan with weak support among her constituents, reports Inside Bay Area.
A poll released by the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and conducted by EMC Research found that 46 percent of those poll say they definitely won’t vote for Quan next year.
Only 5 percent say they would definitely vote for her.
“If you start with almost half the voters saying they are going to vote for someone else, it’s going to be very difficult to win that election,” EMC Research President Alex Evans said.
So far no big-name challenger has announced they will run against her, but this latest poll along with similar results released by SurveyUSA in March swing the door wide open for a challenger.
